What a crazy fun weekend. Jim Schenck and I drove down to Mark Dougherty’s exit, picked up my car and Brendan Dougherty, then headed down to Atlanta ready for the 8hr enduro. Rafe Baskin met us at the track as he will be also driving with Jim and I in the 8hr enduro. He also gave us great news, Rafe proposed to his girlfriend Anna the day before Congrats to both of them!

10 FFR Challenge cars, and one GTM came out to play at the first FFR Invitational.
6 FFR Challenge cars compete at MidOhio July 26-28, 2013. In attendance Brian Sanders, Greg Wellinghoff Jr, Eric Kostamaa, Lyle Riggen (Team RT Tavi Racing), Rafe Basking, and John George.
Thanks Dave Smith and Jim Schenck at Factory Five Racing for entrusting me to drive the 818R at VIR in UTCC 2013. We had high hopes for this weekend signing up not only to participate in the UTCC but also in test/tune sessions to use those extra sessions to better the car. 818R with 340RWHP, Yokahama racing slicks, aero tested 2 days before at the wind-tunnel, WOW! a recipe for a great weekend.
First place in ES 4hr Enduro! 2nd place on Saturday and Sunday sprint races! Fellow FFR challenge competitors Mike Tuck, Paul Arnold, Rafe Baskin, Tom Lavell, Marty Howard and I looked forward to get back to racing after having all of May off.
3rd place, 2nd place and a 1st place all in one weekend!
The first race of the 2013 season was at VIR March 22-24. I decided to not only run my FFR#48 but also rent a BMW SpecE30 racecar from drive-gear.com just to see how that series is to run with. FFR drove great, see Carl’s race report below.
ECS #5 has us joining our fellow FFR racers in the NASA Great Lakes region promising to be another fun and competitive event. In attendance are Peter LaRose, Carl Thompson, Rafe Baskin, Eric Kostamaa, Paul Arnold, Tom Lavell, Brian Sanders, Greg and Gregg Wellinghoff and me.
